The American Nuclear Society (ANS) is a not-for-profit, international, scientific and educational organization. ANS was established by a group of individuals who recognized the need to unify the professional activities within the diverse fields of nuclear science and technology. ANS is committed to lead in the development, dissemination, and application of nuclear science and technology to benefit humanity.

The Chicago-Great Lakes Section covers a large geographical region including northern Illinois around the Chicago area, all of Michigan, and all of Ohio. Our group primarily provides a forum for scientific and technical exchange concerning the peaceful applications of nuclear science and technology. We sponsor a variety of public information and education activities throughout the year for schools and community groups. We encourage any interested professional, educator, or other member of the public to attend our regular meetings.
