STEM Fest at the Romeoville Library

On Saturday, April 12, 2025, the Chicago-Great Lakes Section will host a demonstration booth at the White Oak Library in Romeoville, Illinois. This will be our 3rd year participating is this HUGE event which reaches over 2,000 attendees between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm. Contact Eric Jebsen or Rebecca Steinman if you want to volunteer.

Check the box on your national membership renewal form to join the local section, be added to our mailing list, and start participating in local section activities. If you already renewed for 2025, contact an officer for instructions on how to update your membership to include the local section.


The American Nuclear Society (ANS) is a not-for-profit, international, scientific and educational organization. ANS was established by a group of individuals who recognized the need to unify the professional activities within the diverse fields of nuclear science and technology. ANS is committed to lead in the development, dissemination, and application of nuclear science and technology to benefit humanity.

The Chicago-Great Lakes Section covers a large geographical region including northern Illinois around the Chicago area, all of Michigan, and all of Ohio. Our group primarily provides a forum for scientific and technical exchange concerning the peaceful applications of nuclear science and technology. We sponsor a variety of public information and education activities throughout the year for schools and community groups. We encourage any interested professional, educator, or other member of the public to attend our regular meetings.
